This made me cry. Sob, miserably. I just returned from Venezuela in May where I was visiting my grandma who has succumbed to this disease. Now as an Adult, I try to figure out her life, hear the stories of a grandfather who died long before I was born, discover the history of my past and my family, but--I am too late. I have struggled to express all that I had felt and feel in that month abroad, and this piece, it spoke every single shred of sorrow in my soul. I thank you for this, because only a few times in my life, have I felt the release of this emotional state. You've given me the means to express my tears and my sadness for my grandmother and the things forever lost. Words will never be enough to express just how eternally grateful I am for that. Thank you. Thank you for letting me cry.
