Grand Bend
I called to you one early summer morning
Lake Huron drowned the fledgling words that flew
Across the lake I saw your spirit burning
Like all the sunsets birthed a flame of you
That fire, wrought from gazes from your eyes
Sets tones of wonder now upon my brow
Your ether bound with mystery and longing
Resounds of rites of passion even now
I only ask you never to forgive me
Until the grand romantic part is played
For stirring adolescent fair within you
That burns the timid portrait on your face
But know me as a shard of failing sunshine
That traced a wave upon a garnet sea
How fleeting was the moment I existed
How fleeting can a flash of magic be
Your gift reciprocated pondered feelings
That all my life I knew I'd search again
In wake of some immortalized connection
To you, a distant greeting from Grand Bend

Nicely worded and a good read. Thanks for sharing.

An exquisite offering that was a joy to read, and reminisce over the many shared parallels of our lives. Welcome to TPS duplex and looking for more from you. Cheers! - Dan

Thank you, albatoss, dwells and tangerinepie. It is true, there is only one Grand Bend -and with sunsets that rank in the top ten in the world. Sometimes the water links souls together for fractions of time here. Your comments are appreciated.

A magical madrigal with many an outstanding turn of phrase. That fourth verse, magnificent!

Thank you Sirfleshwound for reading and leaving a comment. I am very excited about having my poem spotlighted. I did not expect it at all.
