The cherry blossom and her beauty

Post by poetics » March 30th, 2014, 10:13 am

Lightly clothed,
The cold remarks of yesterday bare slightly.
Primped with youth the young buds of early spring sprawl for us in return,
How they yearn for the touch of birds and the damper of morning dew.
Through and through I bid you farewell estranged mind,
For beauty belittles death within the slightest of dwellings.
Although with brevity I bleed, my words shall carry on with the observer of tomorrow.

Lovely...I kept wanting the cherry blossom to become a woman...you personified her so tenderly and lovingly! Dreamy stuff...Dew

Oh Dew, I thank you for the kind words form your heart. For you to even read this means more to me than you would know. Thank you, enjoy the day!

Using the Cherry blossom tree as an allegory for someone's beauty is very poetic. I thought the third line to particularly captivating. Enjoyed the eloquence to this piece.

I couldn't decide whether this poem was about a beautiful woman or an equally impressive cherry blossom, and I believe that makes it a great one. The brevity and elegant language make it compelling.
