The Lonely Ways

The Lonely Ways
Deafening silence comes knocking
on empty roads far from our cozy homes
a place where distance helps us hear the earth's noise
from the insides of our detailed chromosomes
finding our selves standing in unfamiliar intersections
contemplating the directions we could go
can really grind down our ways of thinking
and wear on the echoes our throats have come to know
we ought to scrutinize with acute broad mindedness
and arrive at our decisions completely open hearted
but to truly be finer than any of our grated thoughts
we should look through the expanse and find the areas uncharted.

Instead of Lonely, I think your poem reflects a spirit of Great independence. So can a person really have the spirit of independence and not be lonely? Through Christ we can! Thanks for reminding me that when we are living our lives in agreement with Jesus Christ, we are Never lonely. (Amos 3:3) A very thought provoking poem! Thanks and have a very wonderful Christmas as we celebrate the birth of Jesus, the greatest of all! anthony

Thank you Anthony and Kent!
Sometimes the feelings of being alone, can push us to go deeper into ourselves. And if we go honestly, we can discover new and amazing things. As Christians, we are installed with a second to none tour Guide. And earning the respect of our Spirits and Souls, can be done when we separate ourselves from the world. Then, we can walk on the right side of Christ, and with six feet and six eyes,we can look at all things differently. And as for the rules in that battle in-between our ears...,...,...they head for the hills.

Indeed, there is a sentiment here that I share with you. In order to go places no one has gone before, you need to go a way that no one goes.
I really liked your first stanza, that bit about the chromosomes was startlingly effective and evocative. The imagery in it comes together in a profound way.
