A unique poem - 1 of a kind - well deserved spotlight.
You seem like such a thorough person that this off the cuff
writing might be 'unclean' to you?
You did however SMOKE it

Re: Unwashed Poetry (IK)
I really feel like this poem describes me. The idea of "unwashed poetry" almost seems to me like an OM or confessional poetry of sorts. Something unedited, so that the level of diligence isn't there. Hmm. A good poem! Interesting work and congrats on your spotlight!

I can't help but feel a bit nostalgic getting to revisit an IK poem, and one which seemed to capture a lot of the spirit of the month, with an introspective and poetically themed flavour, with an ending to envy too.
Congratulations on the spotlight!

Re: Unwashed Poetry (IK)
I just now found out what (IK) means. It sounds like participants were writing poetry for each of the 15 boards and they were dealing with completing it during the month of August. I am guessing this was a poem written for Open Mike poetry. The concept of unwashed poetry sounds like poetry that has not been edited. The last lines of the poem reminds the poet that summer's glare could show up stains or choices of words, subject matter, form that the poet would prefer not to expose. I am guessing, but the challenge of trying to understand is fun. Just ignore the lady behind the curtain. Congrats on the TPS Spotlight.

A self aware poem. The experience of going somewhere unfamiliar. I can imagine this one quietly sliding into OM. Strangely this reminds me of my first lgbt meeting, I was shaking in fear. Now to think of it, when I posted my first poem here I was nervous. Sorry for the tangent, it just took me there. I enjoyed this.
