I just spent my last 6.00 on some tacos-and literally have pennies left to my name until payday. Which is always the case. Living in the moment because I don't have a lot of hope for the future-your poem says it all!

The metaphor works well here and it's extension is well placed, I particularly like the choice of phrasing you use and it give the poem an air of matter of fact and acceptance, I did wonder if fluff could replace dust as it would sit better with the title and pick up the sonics from lofty, but you poem and just a suggestion, I'm new to the site so if this is inappropriate just let me know.
