An amber colored pendant
Shines behind see-through drapes
Adorning your original face
with a glimmer of hope
Giving rise to a
flight of fancy.
before beads of lukewarm inspiration
Awakes creativity.
That decorates the water-closet
Where your unprotected self
Try on fashionable armor
Made up of
The new soul on your feet
To the heavy denim
Tailored to
Your support
With a sleek top
To tie it all together
But your outfit isn’t complete
In polished metal
You investigate what is missing
Your hands reach for accessories
You affix them
To your appendages
But still that isn’t it
You throw on
Leather skin
Yet that
Doesn’t solve the problem
As you stand searching for
What is absent
From yourself presentation.
You realize
It was right under your nose
The whole entire time
As you step away
From the mirror
You smile
Knowing now that
You have what was lacking……..

Re: Suit Up
I really wondered where you were going with this one - the metaphors, coupled with the pacing, made this feel a little voyeuristic, and quite a disturbing insight into the person getting dressed. The ending changes the context, however it still leaves me pondering the life of the person.
Clever work with something between the lines to consider.

Re: Suit Up
self confidence maybe??
I liked the reference to fashionable armor -
it's as if that will make a difference to the outcome of the day (war)??
