In the space between contact and response
The possibilities outstretch, concave like my chest
To the outer rim, what's left
In the maelstrom of vulcanizing thoughts,
Making the heart turn hardened rubber
And transmitters tap their chemical fear.
The barriers are broken; something awoken;
Nothing is the same again - that's how it feels.
The truth is that it's a lie
Produced in the self-shaming mind
Which leads to nothing worthwhile
But causes a scene so rampant, obscene
In the interval.
What are you going to say?

Nice one, got the impression that dwelling is no good and tortures yourself? Well that is what I am taking from it. Good work

Indeed sometimes it's hard to come up with something to say when there's a lot riding on how you respond to a question or conversation.

Re: What are you going to say?
This is the truth of "the moment." The moment when you propose, before the answer. When you say "I love you," and hope for the same response. When you raise your hand in class with what you hope is a brilliant answer, but dread that you may be incredibly wrong. This is vulnerability, and the storm cloud of emotions it provides. Thanks for giving us this to chew on.
