None more surprised and pleased to see this piece on the spotlight,for which I thank each and all of you. I've been unwell for a while and this is a much better tonic than and medication. Deeply and genuinely appreciated.

A yearning for the simpler life and a warning of our folly. There's a dark claustrophobic feel about this, which perfectly echo's the underlying message. We all subconsciously feel this way but most never express it. Bravo.

It is excellent writing to be able to retain such a lyrical style on such a subject matter, one which builds from something more introspective into an expansive look at society which threatens to sweep those on the margins beneath it. The second stanza manages to be analytical, cutting and depressingly realistic, with a concluding line to envy.

the message in your poem is conveyed so well. i agree with your message completely for several reasons mentioned above in a few other responses by fellow poets. i am glad i stopped by to read the spotlight today it was a treat to read your words, thank you.

Amazing. This poem took my breath away because it's just so true. I love it. The fast pace and the tone make it astonishingly engaging. Bravo, you deserved this spotlight.

Your poem reveals one important fact. You have found the time to consider the life around you. Everything moves so fast these days, it seems "we have no time to stand and stare".You have done so with a most effective lyricism and being in the Spotlight has helped to draw attention to this.

Such a powerful write!
I just love the rhythm in the first stanza, it kinda added impact when it's read aloud, and like LMB says, it's a trending topic, and here it was like a wake up call from the mess, rushing time, and be rational about every second wasted and to be used in a beneficial way.
Loved it! Wonderful work, and much deserved Spotlight, Congratulations!

This made me teary-eyed. It is so true and saddening. You are not crazy for thinking it... just maybe gone crazy for caring what others are oblivious towards. Thank for you this wonderful piece.

Thought provoking and intricate...I can see what you point towards that topic that all grown ups like to discuss, I as a 15 years old hold these gadgets all so dear..In dispensable as they have become part of my daily routine but it is also true that they have distracted my little head and confused my soul beyond measure...But I must say the "WORLD is Not AS CRUEL as YOU Take it TO be " A beautiful write loved it.......

Dorniks - how difficult it it to rhyme with mystery and great
purpose and you have done both. And you're not crazy -
we do have so little time for each other, hellos, the weak
and the sick, etc. It's this silly computer I say!

Though without it, I wouldn't have found this
great site and all the nice folks.

Yeah, we have to somehow remember our organics
amidst all the virtuality......I can see where this is a
forum favorite.....
