This is of the spirit of the sea.
Triton, amid the dread of the deep eternal noon
blows his soul, with happiness and true felicity
through the pipe of the sea snail
The call is as unto each man's ear somewhat insane.
Though his sea-snail-pipe plays on.
The splitting of the air in the silent thoughts of man
Is but as desolate as the land of Egypt for some forty years
And some forty years more, again,
the pipe plays on: The messenger of the sea does raise the waves
His shoulders bear the heavy Neptune,
his heart holds the spirit of the sun
But his pipe plays on.
The monsters in the chambers of death
hear the call, contemplate the authority of Poseiden
and then
from their tombs they go to nurserys
And from their nurserys to the wombs of upper Egypt
From the wombs of upper Egypt
They become the snouts of Pigs
To the ears of pork.
Play on, wild pipe of the beach, play on, fair conch and the sea snail
Some will hear it
Do not be afraid of the trident
nor the great power and might of the sea-spirt that lies before us
Act not in desperation, nor hunt a prey
the spirt, the Kingdom of Peace, treat it not as a prey.
Treat it not as a prey,
Do not be afeared,
I am coming
We are coming.

Re: Neptune and Triton
xandergiles ~WoW! This was an exceptional piece of work, what with not only the power of the Sea, but both celestial and mythological entities thrown in, makes this a very Emotionally charged piece...the reader can tell that both a great deal of thought and creativity was put in to this beautiful write. I can't say enough about how this filled me with joy and enlightenment....I so loved it ALL that I could not pick out a particular vs. that would be a favorite...This was EPIC in my opinion...BRILLIANT my friend...I wished I could write like this....A book marker for sure and possibly a Spotlight.....Musie

Re: Neptune and Triton
Quite a threatening ending to this one, but in a positive way, if that doesn't sound like too much of an oxymoron. Rather than feeling like impending doom, it felt like a signal for impending change, perhaps a call for revolution, all delivered from a mythological base. Even though mythology automatically makes me think of a historical perspective, this was written in a way which seemed applicable to the hear and now.

Re: Neptune and Triton
Such powerful images in this poem with the Gods interacting with man, and strong admonition to man that we need to be listening. I felt like an observer watching a cosmic dance.
VERY creative.

Re: Neptune and Triton
Enigmatic with some possibly religious overtones, yet invoking the older gods of the earth, while terrible things are visited upon some, and a final warning to our stewardship maybe? Much enjoyed XG - cheers (and still pondering)!
