Dark Seraph

Post by Pleiadic » January 30th, 2014, 12:29 am

At rain's command the legion pounds
aligned in lurid, cystic sheets,
diminishing molehills of green to pools
beneath my silvered feet.
When serf and servant scurry
ceasing master's chill with carriage veils,
when all else fades to water walls
only then do I emerge to travel long its serrat halls.

An oddity in shade-- some shadow slopping on the path ahead
my mission paused to search the gloom
for living evil…or undead.
A ritual in black,
God of Warlocks, glory to behold
called from source to cast a spell
his athame held high and bold.

Of hopeless flesh a hiss and steam he spake
Death herself wept as Seraph wings of waxen sheen did shake
and his blood was spilt upon the stone.

This essence, aimless and airbourne
from a gape no seamstress could resew
amassed together,
called itself in tongues of pitch and hell and woe.
Séance upon the stone where Seraph kneeled
and died upon decree
this essence will became its own
and turned and drooled right into me….

...

…red, red fate…
red ecstasy before I knew to run
and smearing on my heaving breast
behind my mind the red has won.
Insignia, my soul
new missions given from the deep within
new master of a sanguine lord
new blood seething beneath dead skin.

Merope hides, but no longer for shame.

Holy smokes Ple - I don't think I've ever posted anything on this board yet. This was indeed fantastical and darkly brooding of something fey and ancient. I've re-read it and still speechless with the sacrifice and denouement. Welcome again to TPS!

Welcome to TPS, and most heartily, Welcome to Fantasy!
A wondrous exploit into the creation of a creature that captivates and horrifies at the same.
The true essence of a high level fantasy piece.
Superb!!

Wow this is bitter and tasty all in one. It showed a taste of red brooding blood and covered that diction with a dark and mysterious captioning. I am glad you developed such a detailed and well rounded poem.

This is so dark and new to me, a fantasy of a horrifying fate of red ecstasy discovered before Narrator knew to run. I need to read more. I knew Seraphs were angels, but this Seraph had his blood spilled while kneeling on a stone. An intriguing line followed,
'This essence, aimless and airbourne
from a gape no seamstress could resew
amassed together,
called itself in tongues of pitch and hell and woe.'
Congratulations on TPS Spotlight.
