Mount Fuji - A Japanese Tanka

Post by ramfire » June 12th, 2014, 11:53 am

Mountain top glistens.
Snow on Mount Fuji shines white.
Beautiful picture!
Flowers at base are so bright.
Fields of mums frame this fine sight.

Isn't there a forest where people go to commit suicide at the base, as well as people who tried and failed and now teg to stop others? Or is that somewhere else?

I've heard also there's a lot less snow nowadays due to climate change. Does the snow persist into mum season?

Still, a lovely postcard image. Wish I could see it!

Dearest ramfire, I love this because it brought two different pictures to mind. The beauty of the snow capped mountain,
so strong and majestic. And then fragile but beautiful flowers. Very beautiful!

Much Love,
Lynn

I've climbed up there twice and it's so tiresome but it feels very nice to be at the peak and it is still active.

This is lovely! I spend many weekends a year near Mt. Fuji, watching its face change with the seasons. Thank you for sharing!
