Mother

Post by David Wayne » September 22nd, 2014, 5:55 am

Sometimes I hear
your voice calling me home
and I feel your fingers in my hair
but your face always escapes me.

You died so long ago
but I'm still here
like I promised.

Tonight your son isn't doing so well.

Maybe tomorrow
I will hear your voice
and find the courage
to come home
and see your face
one more time.

As loving as this is, there is tragic sadness embedded beneath the words. Chilling as much as it is heartwarming.

Wow. Captures the moments of tragedy, but in essence we must all face death. Very spiritual as well, and great seeing a bond between mother and son like this.

hello my friend,

the bond between mother and son is there, even in death. I know it is there between my father and me, even though he has passed many years ago. and yet there is longing. a very fine poem!

always, Cat

This poem practically made me cry. I just lost my Aunt this week and there is a lot of sorrow in my heart. I thought this was beautifully written. I too agree it shows a strong bond between a child and their mother. Very well done.

That brought tears to my eyes. So much feeling and depth to the simple few words use. Very nicely done.

Dearest David Wayne, this brought tears to my eyes as well. Though the bond was strong you had to face the reality that
mom was gone. Beautiful and sad. Thank you for sharing this.

Much Love,
Lynn

There is power in the love behind this poem, but w/ this love also comes a deep sadness. Profound work. Very raw poem w/ a strong emotive quality. Thanks for sharing.

Aw DW, sweetly and sorrowfully stated and wondering if I'll have a spirit guide now? Hoping all is OK and that this is just a tender moment of quiet reflection. Be well and hang in their my friend, cheers!
