Standing in Laceration

Standing in Laceration

For those who dare to stand where I stood,
Love wildy rides the lightening,
Loneliness painfully crashes as thunder.
I miss the love of my life.
|
|
It has been a while since I have remembered,
Her face,
Her taste,
The small of her back as a place
where my tears fell down around her.
|
|
Tragedy mourns all of the things that I don’t remember,
Never forget,
Never regret,
The bond of two hearts that sent
the infatuation in true love out as one.
|
|
To me there is a fine line between ‘What Is’, and ‘What Is Not’, fair in love and war.
I know because the casualties of war took her from me while I still loved her.

DragonsOfRose wrote:Absolutely love this piece, Wind. The emotions drip so freely from this piece, beautifully written, painfully felt. Nicely done.
Thank you for the complement.

Thanks for the comments Krake. I used an old flame as inspiration while writing this one.

When loss bears down it is easy to fall with it; but better to linger, as you do, in the beauty of the moments you remember. Wonderfully written and congratulations. Loretta

The loss was believable and the Narrator's pain was made visible by shared memories. Thank you for posting and congratulations on the TPS Spotlight recognition.

I really like how you built this one up in layers; even though the loss is palpable from the opening stanza, I like that you also invested some time on describing exactly what it is the speaker is missing. By giving us some of the highs we could appreciate the lows on a deeper level. The extended final couplet served as an envoi, adding further context in summation of the message of the previous stanzas.
Congratulations on the spotlight!

Wow, where to begin? My favorite piece I've read of yours so far, and yes I have read quite a few. Fighting tears for your words are a defined example of my intangible emotions at this very moment. Well done. Love your work, don't ever stop writing (please!)

I have to leave a quick note, recently I have been getting closer to finishing writing my book. I had been recently speaking with my case manager about the many different form of citation for my latest draft. I was writing a reply to a revision of 'Anecdotes Of A Cloud Memoir' where I mentioned how I came to a few ideas when I went on a break from writing philosophy and existentialism, and began to work on poetry again. I bought an, 'Instructional Book' to help with writers block and followed the instructions within. This was the first poem I wrote off of them, and only have 4 or 5 with lesser forms of its instructional use in the writers block area on these forums. They were posted in late 2014 and early 2015. Citation for this poem includes an episode of NCIS, a Staind song, a Metallica song reference combined with an old adage regarding what follows as thunder, a lyric reference from the band Bullet For My Valentine, all put behind my feeling over a broken relationship that I was in during High School. Thanks. Always a pleasure.
