And you wonder why?

Post by ternic73 » October 12th, 2015, 9:00 pm

You wonder why I dont sit with you
When I tell you things you do, you say its not true.
You never listen to what I have to say.
Its always we have to do things your way
I never get a simple hug.
You make me feel like dirt and push me under the rug.
You never talk to me about your day
All I hear are complaints, thats all you ever say.
You buy things without thought
But question everything I have ever bought
I am the bread winner and finally you are too.
But that doesnt give you the right of what you put me through
I wish you would wake up and see what you do.
What would you do if I walked away?
What would you do then? What would you say

A hard hitting write that questions the basis of a relationship. I can relate easily to this, because I see it everyday. No it doesn't get any easier until you get up and walk away. Well penned.

Love,
Sophie

A relationship under strain indeed. The money quarrels are what stood out to me the most. Sometimes the most mundane actions can set off something much more serious when a relationship is already on the verge of breaking. Complaints, arguments, and inconsideration for someone else's feelings contribute to only unhealthy interaction. Sophie was right to describe this as hard hitting-- it is indeed. Thanks for sharing!

If you do indeed walk away, your questions my be answered. Perhaps a break is what is needed. A couple's world should revolve around both people, not just one. Your feelings are expressed with passion. Your partner should read them.

The difficulties of being in a relationship where one struggles so much is very telling in this well written poem, I hope you find some peace in your relationship or indeed find someone more accepting of yourself.

Your poem is very interesting. Couples need to understand that to be together, they need the world around them, and when one partner begins to close the world of another around them slowly, the relationship is no more 'cause it does not just need the two, it needed the whole world around them. The relationship is like a plant that does not need just food and water, but also the whole environment/world around to survive and to prosper/flourish. I think you should first try and compromise, 'cause just maybe you are also wrong in some ways but don't notice it. So maybe if you begin to work a bit harder than before, you might be okay and if still not, then it means that you and your love are different mentalities so obviously you won't click together, and so it would be alright for both of you for you to walk away from the relationship having ensured your love's safety and security first of course. I have decided to leave this forum, the reasons for doing so are personal. Sorry for anything I may not be able to respond to somewhere on this forum. Goodbye!

I had left this forum a while back, but have decided to make a comeback. I thought this was the best place to say it.

Oh, this makes me think of the relationship I had with my father. Not quite what you describe in such bold and powerful terms, but up there. Perhaps the right choice would be to end it once and for all. Good work.

Sad and thought provoking. Nice write and very deserving of a spotlight. Hope things have improved in the intervening years
