Dusk and Dawn

Post by Mollie » February 7th, 2016, 5:03 pm

Dusk and Dawn

Apricot clouds in a blue autumn sky
the land is preparing for sleep
Pink turns to grey, the sun slips away
and dusk is charged with day’s keep

Oh do remember the warmth of the sun
as we toiled at our daily labours
The promise of morn we must heed, never scorn
for we’re blessed with natural favours

As the sun sinks and dies in the seasonal skies
it appears on the following morrow
With the colours and hues that nature does choose
and our senses are charged but to follow

An excellent observation Mollie and the weather; especially in the early morning, can surely set the tone of the coming day. Unless of course we are agoraphobics, or hermits living in a cave. I think I saw that same sunset about 6 moths ago - cheers! - Dan

A very nice, peaceful poem. Good imagery. Hold the thought.
Thanks!

Mollie
How beautiful. You painted a spender array of naturalistic beauties. It brought a smile to my face. I was hooked from the very first line. Apricot clouds in a blue autumn sky I simply loved it.
Thanks.

Blessings

Thanks for all the positive comments! It is wonderful writing poetry (I have much to learn and far to go I humbly add) but receiving comments such as yours (all of you) brings joy to my life.

Gorgeous, moving, fantastic imagery. This left me thankful for the things that I have and appreciating what amazing things nature has for us. Perfect flow, well done.

I let the sun on my skin.
Pretend I don't burn
I'm not burning here.
I just lay ash
On my eyelids,
And rub it deep into my
Bones.

A gem of a write and a timely reminder that, as the seasons melt one into the other, following the natural order of Creation, so we must also move through our years, following the natural order, accepting the process and making the most, with beauty and thankfulness, of each phase as it passes by.

It was reaffirming of life with its natural order and beauty. During the heat of the day with yard work to do, it is refreshing to anticipate the arrival of morning with the cooler temperatures and awakening from a peaceful rest. Thank you for the rhythm and beauty of your poem.
