A Poem About Us

Post by A. Siegelster » April 26th, 2016, 5:20 pm

I found it hard to write a poem about us,
Cause nothing about us is particularly sad or wanting.
But I tried,
Shouldn’t all loves be captured in texts such as this?

We aren’t normal by any means,
But neither are we very abnormal either;
Well,
Maybe I am the exception,
But I suppose that’s partially why you decided on me;
Though that also says quite a lot doesn’t it?

You have the brains,
You are in and of the world because you care for it so much,
And you hope that one day it will care for you.
I admire that,
Your constant passion for the world and what it’s brought to the universe.
I do not always see it,
All those things you see,
But I try to,
Expanding my mind,
And I know that through you there is absolutely something to everything.

To you there is something to me,
And even that I haven’t yet fathomed,
But I bring everything I can to you,
Everything that catches my eye
And you hold it in your hands and eyes
And they are holier than any relic or prophet’s bones.

And there I go again sounding ever so poetic,
But you like it,
So I do it for you and for me and for anyone who will listen.

Still I have no idea what I bring to this,
I always believed I was in constant void,
Black clouds over my head,
But somehow we enjoy the bad weather together,
And we laugh and laugh because how could we not?

I take pride in being content with you,
Wanting for nothing in your world,
Except maybe a large pizza.

A heartfelt compendium with a delightful twist of humor for the final topping. The synergy oozes from this wonderful poem; ani't it great AS! Cheers from the lucky few - Dan

I like the simplicity and the honesty here...
A lot to be said about contentment and not needing all the bells and whistles...

I have become moderately contented since reading your ideas and thoughts. Thank you. I think I'll now strive to achieve mediocrity.

Every day, life is a test. Pass this test, and you get another day.
Go ask Alice, I think she'll know.

I luv how you wrapped this one up. I relate to this in so many ways. One to read more than once for sure.
Many bows
