Fantasies of Mass Destruction

Post by scribble » September 27th, 2016, 3:29 pm

Sometimes I wish the ground beneath would shake,
The walls would crumble all around us and,
In the terror of that sudden earthquake,
You’d think of me and rush to take my hand.
Suddenly desperate, your arms find me
As you clamber over to where I lay;
Dust fills the air and blankets all we see
And what we see is us and there we stay
Until they dig us out, but no hurry,
Together we have everything we need:
Of tomorrow there is no real worry
For we sought comfort and will be pitied.
[space][/space][space][/space][space][/space] Sadly it seems we’ll live without that thrill,
[space][/space][space][/space][space][/space]For now the world insists on standing still.

"Though my soul may set in darkness, it will rise in perfect light;
I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night."

Hi

A far different sonnet. Nevertheless, you got your point across. I never tried this format. Maybe one day I will. :bigsmile:

Hmm interesting thought. Sometimes I used to daydream about ending up in dangerous situations with people I had my eye on and thinking maybe the desperation would open their eyes. Nowadays I just try to get through my day.

i had fun considering this scenario and the attitude it conveys about the author...you play for keeps my friend! But that's the surest way 'til death do us part' is faithfully executed...
