"I saw a Raven yesterday
It was big and black
It had a big nose
What do they call that, what do they call that?
A beak, a beak is the name"
A long thoughtful pause breaks out
Eyes searching for something high above
Was it really a Raven though?
Or was it a crow dressed up as such
Or was it none of the above
Did he really just see a former haunt
Coming back gleefully to visit him?
"I hear an accent
Are you French,
Are you from Quebec
I hear that place is cold
Are there lots of Ravens in Montreal?"
Again his eyes search for something far far away
As if he can imagine himself there in Montreal
As if he could grow wings, leave this town
As if he wasn`t stuck inside his mind
Could he really become that Raven
Flying away to a land far beyond here
Somewhere that his past cannot reach him

Awesome allegory; fleeing the past is something everyone wants to do at one point or another. Sometimes, we do have to become that Raven, I suppose, to keep on living. It all comes down to one's choices.

The desire to escape from reality comes across clearly here -
wings are always a good way
wings are always a good way

Sometimes we all desire to ride on the wings of the Raven and leave 'Montreal' behind. That's why we have poetry! :) You do a great job expressing that here.
