The Gasp of Breath, Of Nature

The Gasp of Breath, Of Nature

In a blink, there is silence and calm
We treat it with smiles and give no thought at all.
Opening our eyes, a shift in the breeze,
Lays forth a terror almost too frightening to believe.
Nature is beautiful, it's graceful and sweet...
Nature is tragic, it destroys and kills with such ease.
Unsettling and horrid, the torrential waves swing and swoop,
The ground shifts, taking the floor beneath our feet.
Rain falls and wind howls, whistling and tearing apart,
Nature knows no mercy, it hails no flag or country,
And remains unpredictable
Despite our technology.

Nature is terrifying, its a wonder that captivates and amazes,
We curse it, we praise it, we'd be lost without bountiful benefits,
We abuse and neglect it but when its bad we can't forget it.
In a blink, a breath, the damage tolls high and we find death...
We cry, we woe, we are bewildered and work on rebuilding without rest.
When our eyes open, we find distress and in life we thank a higher power,
We've survived, we're blessed.

Nature is fascinating, but it carries around us a quiet danger,
and despite the many reminders it gives us,
It always seems to hit us and leave us scarred and speechless.

The one who isn't able to acknowledge his own self, will eventually fail.

Sometimes I think of ants from human viewpoints, and human from the Earth, and the Earth from the Sun, and the Sun from the universe... Without any of it, it seems that we cannot be here, or possibly nothing. Enjoyed reading. Thanks for sharing.

Powerful words, reminding us that the great forces of nature are indeed awe-inspiring and ruthless; skillfully expressed and much enjoyed.

when you stand outside in a storm or look up and see all the stars you truly understand the majesty of nature. really loved this.

I loved you then, I love you still though we are shadows of our former glory
Though they try to kill us off, we are a never-ending story

A great reminder how strong nature is as a force but how much that force still dictates our lives from how she acts. loved it.
