Life is by no means a perennial
though a beautiful flower.
We'd be flowers of a middle length,
and of the frailest kind.
By no means trees, yet trying every way to acclaim height,
Humans are.
Of the lowest caliber and highest fragility.
Of the most poisonous, yet easily destroyed.
I'd call it some strange and dangerous beauty,
coming in various shades and patterns
with one general shape.
Be it lacking in any way,
this fragile, poisonous
and deception,
playing well with us to think we're perennials
or anything even close to it....flower,
Humans are.
Or maybe even the most gorgeous of weeds.....
Planted in a garden, just to have it spread
killing all other flora, and to some extent fauna,
the stenches left hurting the nose.
Not a stomach strong enough to do namesake to that flower
Humans are.
A uncontrollable thing,
that just grows and grows,
and is a danger to its own kind;
such irony for a weed.
An interesting type of irony.
Science would heavily debate
on whether or not it should
or should not study this flower.
One pro for the knowledge of said atrocity,
one con for the knowledge of said atrocity,
Humans are.

Give me a paper,
and give me a pen,
I'll write justification,
I'll need it as well.

Re: Perennials (Humans Are)
Your extended comparison of humans to flowers delivers the message loud and clear. Lovely write that should make some take notice, and others do a bit of thinking on their place in the world, their contributions and their insanity. Thanks.
