The Happier of Two Fools

Post by Lydan Calivere » January 16th, 2018, 12:28 pm

Dreams of love
When love you've never known;
If these are foolish
Then count me as a fool;
Count me among the romantics,
The gentle souls
Burdened with sacrifice,
But hear this,
That I may count you a fool;
You, who deny the passion
God plants within every human heart;
Who rejects God's very design
For every human life;
You who walk through life alone
Though surrounded by friends,
And think there is no other way to be;
You, poor soul, have my pity,
So cynical, and bitter
With not even the hope
Of love to warm you;
So count me a fool,
At least I'm a happy one.

"The poet's heart,
When in joy or sorrow,
When Bitter or at peace,
Always tells the truth"

Oh I like this piece, it is not about loving someone but more about the feeling of love and being open to it. I agree with you, I would love be a fool who dreams of love then a fool who closes themselves to the chance of it. A well written piece and thanks for sharing

Cynical indeed, to think someone open to love as being a fool. Love is a God-given attribute that provides for, and leads to, many great things in life. You describe the emotions well.

Yes, to not experience the beauty-- or dream-- of love is sad indeed; skillfully expressed and much enjoyed.
