House of El

Post by GlobeTrotterMax » May 8th, 2018, 12:22 pm

When you feel all hope’s lost
Melting like the last of winter’s frost
This world is filled with bad intentions, set to consume
Just keep a watchful eye to the sky
And brace your ears for the inevitable sonic boom

The last of his kind, the last son
The last of his kind, and our chosen one

Under our yellow sun
A visitor has become
Embodied light flooding out the dark
Hope and truth, the goodness in you
Ready to ignite with the faintest spark

Sent here to redeem, but not absolve
The last of his kind, with steel resolve

The savior takes shape
Donning a familiar crimson cape
Neither a god, nor a mere man far as all can tell
He seems something in between
The one bearing the sigil of the House of El

Pretty inspirational, this one. I enjoyed the interspersed couplets, allowing the reader to sense the motivations of the savior. I think I have a clue to whom you are referring, but I won't spoil it. (:

Hi. Very well written and I too enjoyed the little couples and thought that they worked very well. Nice poem.

Max -
Could see this piece as an alternative rock song by its construct.
Enjoyed the story immensly.

Well writ.

Max: By reading this I can just picture our savior coming to Earth in the midst of sunbeams parting the dark clouds of our despair giving hope to all those who believe in the miracles of faith and what comes after. Loved this, but probably not only me but also: Jor-El, Kal-El, Jerry Siegel, Joe Shuster, Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, Richard Donner and maybe even Lex Luthor. NICE1! - Falstaff

I'm so glad that you all enjoyed this poem, I forgot how long ago I had written this :-)

Reminded me of Ying & Yang and the magically balanced universe inside and out. Much enjoyed. Thanks for sharing.
