A Prayer.

Post by whitbypoet1 » August 1st, 2018, 5:20 pm

To let me rove just once again
To feel the silver sighing rain,
And let me wander one more time
To watch the heavens as they climb,
Is all that I can ask of you
For there is so much more to do,
So many things of treasured worth
Before I leave this precious earth.

To let my spirit wander free
Across the land, across the sea,
To let reflected beauty glow
Within my soul’s eternal flow,
Is all that I can want from you
For you and I were always true,
So many prayers lost in the rain
Until they wander back again.

To let the love I have inside
Keep blossoming, and never hide,
So many wondrous souls I’ve known
So often as I’ve been alone,
I felt their touch becalming me
And closed my eyes so I could see
Each face that waits along the way
Each smile that shines, each Prayer they say.

To wait until the sun goes down
Until the sunlit days all drown
In liquid golden evensong
Upon that hill where I belong,
Where faces wait in patient lines
For every feeling life defines,
Until they all meet up again
Beyond the realms of grief and pain…

I have no doubt at all that our Loving, Kind and Perfectly Intelligent Heavenly Father hears and understands every prayer. How He deals with them is also a matter of His perfection! Always looking to the Christ as our guide to how to live our lives seems to help heal our wounds the best and to go forth to make the very most out of our lives and be the very best people we can be! Thanks for getting my day going in the right direction! anthony
