Opulent Opacity {Tanka}

Post by tangerinepie » January 30th, 2018, 12:58 pm

Opulent Opacity {Tanka}

Sage secrets unveiled
Perhaps are amaranthine
Remnants in deep earth
Fossils embedded in rock
Ingenuity sublime

Billions of years gone
Vast lapses yet unfathomed
Enigmas unfold
Tubes of soil from the ocean
Apocalyptic details

Star bound man searches
The universe expanding
Galaxies unfold
Death will eclipse our questions
Portents of nature keep watch

It has been said that after we die, we will understand all of what the wise men of this life wonder over.
Wow the last two lines - anticlimactic.

Loved the deep ocean core samples Tangie. Indeed, our history is written in the rocks. Sedimentary layers, igneous upheavals, and calcareous limestone in the caves that we called home. Cheers my friend! - Dan

The last two lines were my favorite. My dad died of a disease at a time when there was no cure known. With the passage of time, an easy cure was discovered. Understanding may not come during our life time, but as we share and work together, answers may be learned. I like to think, too, about how much can be learned from nature to help future generations.
