Brutality of Man
Post
by enaeem12 » August 18th, 2012, 6:40 am
As the dark and hidden predator,
snarled at its pitiful prey,
the gaze shattered all hope
and all he could do was pray:
But God made this land to bewilder all human nation
By showing the starlight and dazzle of his creation,
But those damned men are merely hollows
and their comprehension is as follows:
For night without rest assures you of death,
and days without regret make you Macbeth.
And such a plural hole is in the heart of man,
For even savage beasts can not copy the brutality of his hands,
for how so could others understand Gods plan
When us humans fear, losing even a few of what we can

This is a great fit for the darkness board, I agree that man is definitely the most brutal of all predators on the planet, and this poem emphasises the animal-like nature within humanity.

'The evil that men do' - I really like the more real direction this takes, like Everhopeful says, I think the human race is probably the most brutal and terrifying predator on Earth. I really enjoyed the references in this piece too, to Macbeth especially. Real cool work!

Very nice work. Well thought out and executed with a spiritual bent.

Terrific literary composition. I enjoyed the subject and think this has a witty tone. Bravo for the Spotlight!

Congrats on the spotlight and well deserved.Brutality is a word used perfectly here to describe the all too familiar nature of much of man's deeds on this planet.

Congratulations on the spotlight for this well deserving piece. Though a difficult thing to read, the truthfulness of it, it is indeed an apt description of the sad state of humankind in many instances. Thank you

Hi enaeem12,
Interesting poem. Yes, man can be pretty beastly, but, conversely, he is capable of creating great beauty. Odd. Your line which mentions Macbeth (S3, L4 - "and days without regret make you Macbeth.") seemingly has its facts muddled. Macbeth's conscience drove him to distraction.
Congrats on the spotlight and thanks for the read.
Go well.
