Blooming roses (Tanka)

Post by Rosella » November 5th, 2012, 9:47 pm

From my blog/website, I haven't get a chance to show it here, well, I personally like the poem. It's Tanka

Blooming roses

Bursting blooms
of living petals wide,
the field shine blue
away under the sun hide.
Sprout rainbows of rose field.

A very eloquent nature beauty that blooms before my eyes. Magnificent!

Absolutely super tanka Rosella. Love this.

I very much like the feel of this one.

Hello, I am a little confused, I am trying to learn different forms of poetry and what I have read says that a "tanka" lines have a count of 5 7 5 7 7, which does not seem to match your lovely poem, is the information I have read wrong or are they different or what? thanks for any help you can give me.

Haiku is Japanese, word count lesser for each line, than 5, or 7, is acceptable.

Lastly, to everyone thank you for delight I'd see it's spotted? and compliments together. :)

This is a really vibrant and colourful Tanka, and while the roses are blooming it seems as though the entire garden is full of life!
Well penned, and congratulations on the spotlight!

Love the use of color here; it's very reflective of the bright, changing season. Can't wait for it to be warm! A fine piece and congrats on it being spotlighted.
