Bayou Romancing

Inspiration From The Princess and The Frog
Bayou Romancing

Hanging passion flower’s became
our curtains, cricket song’s
played more lovely than
any five- stared
orchestra’s.
A light breeze awoke an
ambrosia of fire flies whom
floated around us as close
up star’s, teasing ear’s
and swatting
giggles.
Fire flies hummed over
tri-coloring water-lilies glowing
bright royal purples, pinks,
Whites bobbing near a
make shift raft.

Sweetheart kisses printed his
cheek whispering
"thank you."
Slight watering eye’s lids,
stunned from such expressive
Caring, such thoughtful creativeness
joyful tears rolled while being
helped on our wooden lily of a
Raft.
An Iron rod stood high, curved,
clutching lantern with cream
tint windows showing lights
as candle tops do.

My Love
Kissed thy knuckles. I kissed his
Back. Touching our foreheads
together in a slow dance.

It seemed invisible Cherub’s
Were to be our guides.
Raining down petals, wedding
us in Nature immortal ties.

You, my lady, have a truly unique style that creates the footprint of recogition on all your work. I always feel as if you have a secret portal to another literal dimension. The sultry swamp like Cajun mists are vivid in my mind. Captivating. Congratulations.

I'm a bit late your highness but I just had to say this you have captured in the most perfect manner an idyllic scene you have captured with perfect clairty and wording. I didn't see the movie you got your inspiration from. However what you have written reminds me of a scene from a much older flick.... "The Buckeneer (sp?) staring Yule Brenner and Charltion Heston derected by Cecil B. DeMille.

VP,
What a beautiful picture to which you transport us. One can feel like they are standing there in the steamy mist of the Bayou, seeing and hearing what is around you. Absolutely wonderful imagery. What tenderness in your last two stanza. My congratulations. Truly, it belongs here in "The Spotlight".

This bayou girl here was totally immersed inside your mesmerizing words. I don't think the bayou has ever seemed more beautiful when seen though your eyes! Such rich images, just flowing off the page. It catches you, grabs you and hold you tight... everything a poem should do! Congratulations on the spotlight! A much deserved choice!

Aw, I love the Princess and the Frog! And I really love what you did here too. It's beautifully thought of, delicately descriptive and just a wonderfully wrought piece. Congratulations on the spotlight! A very cool piece of work.
