hollow voices haunt my steps
they dally in the shadows -
dark withered trees hide their core
contorted and a- pallid -
madness whispers in my ear
' ungrave your love for me -
don't lie yourself of sanity
remember purple eyes - '
and all i'd want, to scream at crows
that caw in such a mock -
and all i'd want, to break this face
that beckons such a mask -
oh, sanity, do hear my pleads
and cover me in puss -
don't let insanity to whisper me
i've tried to lie so hard -
but feet turn gray and flex til snap
and talons grow my nails -
and feathers sprout upon my back
and shroud me in the Dark -
and hair will pour upon my face
and grins will paint my lips -
and fangs will point downwards my teeth
and fists of metal bricks -
oh, sanity, forsaken me -
why madness do i hear ?
oh, horrors and atrocity
my mind's wheel you do steer -
and dreams and thoughts
leak thru my eyes
corrupting all that is -
deforming and releasing gore
and twisting deep life's core -
in Sanity i've put my fears
In Sanity and flesh
Insanity has heard my voice
Insanity's my steps.

Re: Re: In-Sanity
This is a relentless piece of poetry, I think the form alone helps to convey a lot of the energy and sense of inner turmoil, yet when it's coupled with the frustrated and tormented descriptions, as well as the darker imagery, it makes for a poem which fully lives up to the billing.
A belated congratulations on the spotlight.

I said this in the previous comment, but I'll say it again, I love your clever play on 'in sanity/insanity', and the gripping dark neat images within.
I love as well the 'and' part, it makes this such an intense read till reaching that amazing end.
Congratulations on the Spotlight!

Glad I got a chance to come back and read this one! Another great delivery Alex... this one seemed to be full of emotional chaos pulling you back and forth between the clever realm of insanity and in-sanity and where you thoughts reside at any particular time! Well done work and a belated congratulations on the spotlight, well deserved it was!

i reallyy enjoy reading your poems Alex. you bring something different and unique to the plate. you are difinitely a very gifted writer and a very disturbed soul in in-sanity verses insanity. oh what would we ever do without you amigo.

Mr. D; I missed this one; very powerful images and your portrayal of the moment to moment battles between In Sanity and Insanity. Congratulations. Best Loretta
