Thank you for sharing your Destiny's End. The image of the river illustrates the movement of time in a special way. As we live life, the river allows us to delve into memories, spend time in the present, but we eventually have to keep moving toward our own destiny.

Re: Destiny's End
Looks like I'm late to the party. I, too enjoy the extended metaphor in this piece. In response to Ladywildalice, I think as one grows older, you are more aware of life and the infinite currents you could have floated on (to clumsily add to the metaphor). This keen awareness, I believe, and the myriad of life experiences one has attained through the decades, makes each passing moment that much more ephemeral. Anyway, great work on this, hope all is well.

Re: Destiny's End
I like how this poem goes in multiple directions at once, even musing about photographs as a side note, which subtly casts doubt on the linearity of the river. For a short piece, you said so much...

Re: Destiny's End
This is really nice ... kind of soothing. Personal preference? I'd love to see some rhyme, but it does flow and there's some good imagery.

Re: Destiny's End
I love extended metaphors, and this one is a wonderful example!
Indeed, time passes by us, at first we move along, and at other times we wish we could go back in time, but there will come a time when it moves alone without us!
I, as well, like "earthy vessels", and you just did a great job with this one!
Congratulations on the Spotlight!
