Where no shadows fall

Post by GMC » September 12th, 2013, 3:43 am

Time to kiss and say goodbye
Wipe the tear from your eye
Step aboard the train and wave
Take the memory and save,
This special moment in your mind
When I was yours and you were mine
As the wheels turn on the track
We know there is no turning back

Take this broken heart…...... wherever you go
I need the world to see.... I need it to know

that I'm standing here surrounded by pain
where no shadows fall here in the rain

silver rain begins to fall
My lonely heart I hear it call
It asks me why you left today
Even though I asked you please to stay
The pain was there for all to see
That you no longer wanted me
And as you disappeared from sight
I turned my back upon the night

Oh as you dissapeared from sight
I turned my back upon the night.......

The old clock ticks upon the wall
I want to sleep so dreams can call
But in my mind I just replay
That last farewell you said today
I’ll close my eyes forget the tears
We were together through the years
I see you laughing in the rain
As I surrender to my pain

So Take this broken heart.......... wherever you go
you turned your back on me.... but it doesn’t show
that I'm standing still, surrounded by pain
where no shadows fall here in the rain...........

Oh where no shadows fall here in the rain

I still like more songs about letting go than about love, althoght it is always chliche, you gave it really good melody and the song simply flows. Very well penned!

Greeting GMC:

A true heart breaker. A lot of people can relate to "Where No Shadows Fall" Your song is well written and was emotionally absorbed. I felt every word. Thanks for sharing.

a melodic and sad piece. Song like and ethereal.
Well written.

Your song like lyrics touched on the pain of a departing love, a time I know I have experienced. Congratulations on the TPS Spotlight. A favorite part that repeats for me:
Step aboard the train and wave
Take the memory and save,
This special moment in your mind
