That You Might Dream

Post by moe » May 16th, 2012, 8:12 pm

When I am gone
my poems will linger in this book;
made for you...

Christmas; 2011.
They will be there for you
to read and remember.

When I am gone...
may my words linger
like scented rose-petals...

May they trill like a song-bird
in memory's ear
and set your heart to dancing.

May you see them scattered...
like so many stars across
the evening sky.

May you savor them
like a good wine, feel again
the warmth of my devotion.

May they be the twilight
songs that lull you to sleep
so that you might dream...and remember

So sweet...don't know why, but it reminds of visiting the garden house at Bellingrath and seeing all the porcelain statuettes that the owner bought for his wife when they were living...even after they both are gone, the visible symbol of love endures and can even touch a stranger...felt like that feeling. Dwelt in these cozy thoughts a while...Dew

I like dreaming and remembering. They both can be quite powerful tools. Well done with this.

For parted lovers live in dreams, reigniting the flames that held them once. This brought a tear and is so very appreciated, and recognized and identified with. May your words always echo in her heart and mind, and resonate forever in her soul. You both are lucky to have found each other. I pray it lasts many lifetimes and beyond. Sue

What a lovely write that also holds a most beautiful sentiment inside. "So that you may dream...and remember"
A truly perfect gift. One would be lucky to receive and so generous and sentimential to give. Our words hopefully will always live on within someone. -R xoxo

love has always felt like a drop of water. something that if you look at, reflects back to you it's truest nature, however it is so fragile that one must always protect it from drying up.. your poetry is beautiful C, and I'm thrilled you enjoy tps as much as we enjoy having you here. take care

We all separate sometimes. To go to work / school. Even in the same bed, we sleep our own dreams.

I know my husband reads my poems at work (keeps them in browser tabs) and so yes, our words reach out across separations. And they will be there at the final separation as well. And treasured.

If at first you don't succeed, try second, third, or shortstop.

for some of us, our words will be our legacy.. we hope they reach out and touch people's souls even if we can't do it ourselves.. Loved this, congratulations of the spotlight!
