A write of undoubted quality written with great respect for feeling. I picked up on something between the lines but can't identify it. Deserved congratulations on the Spotlight,

I love this for its sincerity, subtlety, exquisite composition put in a ghazal form, and the attachment it has on a personal level.
Congratulations on the Spotlight!

Hi, just love that last line. I really love it when the last line of a poem hits me like that. I'm an old fool but that last line literally had me welling up and I love when that happens, well done on the well deserved spotlight, Sean.

I have an extremely limited knowledge of poetic forms and prior to this, had never heard of a Ghazal. After researching it, I am even more impressed with how effortless you make it look. Wonderful and poetically inspiring. Congratulations on a well deserved Spotlight indeed.

Thanks so much for sharing.

I think I know that carny! Tatoos and a cowboy hat; with an unlit Marlboro dangling from his sneering lower lip. Loved the you, you, you sacrificed feel to this one Mick. Very effective use of the form I'd say, and the loss is palpable as the end draws nigh, cheers and congrats!

I can't believe I haven't commented on this one. Perhaps my favorite piece of writing on this site. Need I say more?

The last line choked me up really bad. I know that feeling. I know it too well.

How could I have missed this masterpiece and gem mick first go at it, and that is an understatement for sure. Certainly glad this one resurfaced because it was definitely a treat of eye candy to behold, take-in, and read. I am familiar with Ghazal form thanks to Janroit. But his are to get because of the language barrier, Now I see how beautiful this form is that I will write one in English because I understand how to write this form with much more understanding after reading your work here. The ending is perfect and what brings this piece of poetry together to tie it all in perfectly and brilliantly. Most impressed indeed my poet friend, Exalt for sure and thank you for sharing. Much enjoyed most definitely.

This is so gentle, almost a whispered prayer or incantation. Everything is for her, including the longing and waiting. Sprinkled with the alliteration that I love and the perfect rhyme makes me realize how much I have missed poetry and how much I've missed reading your work, poet.
