Wow. I love every bit but especially the casual radiance and fervency.

Cheers

hello D.

I am blown away by the entire poem, but this seems to sum it up:

I list this last here
but my list isn't complete
because the mystery that is woman
remains undefined
awaiting discovery
in the caustic waves that burn with fervency
in hungry eyes of her discoverer

WOW!!! you have bowled me over!
always, Cat

I'm 67 and this poem made me think about my wife's aging body, and how physical beauty is doomed to fade into corruption. And as a feminist, I reacted to your objectification of this woman, and all women, as sex objects, using the language of aesthetic appreciation as a trope. Overall, an ecstatic and heart-thumping read. It was clear you could barely control yourself!

I have never read a poem as stirring as this in all my years on TPS.How absolutely astounding your attention to detail is, reverent in the subtle observations and appreciations. It really made me feel like a totally whole entity as I'm sure most women would feel reading this..Stunning spotlight choice..Tangie..

Congratulations on the TPS Spotlight recognition. The subject matter was very thought provoking. Whether you are a man or woman, the beauty described is usually attributed to youth, health and the living spirit of the individual life force that person has. Sometimes we will see this beauty and then it can drift away from our way of seeing because of that person's personal interactions and behaviors. Someone that we perceive as lacking attractiveness can become so beautiful by their behaviors and interactions with others that we cannot ever see them as unattractive as they first appeared to us.
Memory is a gift, too, when you are older so that those moments you described can be recalled and appreciated over and over, providing you have not had negative experiences to erase them. Thank you for sharing!
