Among the Dense Dark Woods

Among the dense dark woods
threading paths adorned by roots
to quench divine resentments' thirst
by enflowering the purity of water

discordant tones of long ago
bestowed the tales of prudence
to lead old men of spirit and song
on journeys embellished with accord

where Nature reigns in mercy
blood and stone, they fare unseen
for bows are laid on sanctity
among the dense dark woods.

NK - welcome to TPS and this was a wonderful simile. Reminds me of old growth forest; undisturbed and ever-shrinking. While the natural purification and sanctity as expressed here, is a communion lost to Man and Men. Atmospherically exceptional in the telling and re-enforced in the closing, cheers!

Thank you very much! It's about the Piaroa tribe of the Amazon, to be specific, so you are right! :)

Simply solid, lyrical and beautiful. It is an invitation to the mind to visualize and savor.

enkay, dwells is always right - he is an enigma(even to himself )
This was an impressive entrance - 'where nature reigns in mercy' excellent!

This was like a secret glimpse into something old and reverent, the wording simply magnetic in setting the theme. It made me feel somehow transported to somewhere primal, and so ethereal it is hard to describe.A glorious spotlight..TY..Tangie..

Congratulations on the spotlight. Well deserved. You certainly have a way with words. It was extremely pleasant walking through your literary meanderings. Always a pleasure.
