I am in awe of this poem. It speaks so beautifully of joy and pain of love, and how during the pain you dont think you can ever love again, but as you said.....

"But Love still leaps from high sea cliffs,
with a romp in the wind and a pierce of the mists,
yet hears that heartache’s voice so thin
that it spreads its wings on the next breath in."

I loved this poem.

jwesley – On that road of living, you just never know when Fate might step in and offer you a lovely transforming breather to walk with. If it does, take it. Sometimes it’s just the gift an incomplete soul needs on its way to becoming a ‘whole’ one. So very happy you really enjoyed this piece, the comments and gained some insight too. No poet of worth could ask for more than that and I hope this piece helps when you most need it jw. Thanks my friend for stopping in and spendin’ a spell here. Namyh

Topaz – There’s hope for all of us and it usually comes when we least expect it from somewhere out of left field. Fate! You gotta love it and its uncanny ability to hit you at the right time and in the right place and leave you breathless, stumbling and fumbling. And you couldn’t be happier that the delivered package was Love and the UPS driver was Fate. Whoa! I’ll take two scoops of that any day and even sign on the bottom line. LOL. I tried to inject those sentiments in this work. It makes this poet mighty proud you found them there Dave. Thanks. Namyh

Mike – I’m blown away by this Spotlight promotion and very appreciative of your wonderful words. I thank the Sanctuary and Chelle for such recognition. Now I can’t catch my ‘breath’ either. Whoa! So very happy you found here a little poetic beauty written from the heart Mizzy. I am indeed honored by it all. Namyh

lightedbyu – Any scribbler whose poetic creation renders the reader speechless with a heavy ‘shake of wonderment’ can feel proud of the efforts which produced it. I thank you. Breathing in and out goes unnoticed because it’s automatic and we don’t have to think about it. Love on the other hand has an impact of its own that will have you activated such that you can’t stop thinking about it. Prepare for gasping, shortened breath, rapid nostril dilation, spasmodic tingling everywhere and the dead giveaway of a smile that won’t stop as the “Breath Out, Breath in” operational Field Manual so states on page 3, paragraph 4, line 7. LOL. Whoa! If this work keeps a smile on ya, then it’s indeed a hitter. Thanks a lot for the Congratz and for stopping by lby. Puts a dash of wholeness in my day. Namyh

Namyh.....So many people yearn to write, long to write, need to write. Some are possessed of that obsessive need to create and to touch, to expose and to connect. You have most certainly accomplished those things here. There is a Power in Love that can not be fully explained. It has been debated, detailed, and dissected. It has been sought, bribed, bought, sold, lost, gifted, and prayed for. And often it has been misunderstood, and been mis-represented, all because it is what the human heart hunts for ceaselessly. This was a write that will not only touch many, it has a tendency to grab the reader by the shirt collar, shake them and scream "Pay Attention". To make that luminous, silken, joyful connection with another Soul is beyond description....but you managed as well as I've seen in a long time. Excellent and very deserving of the Spotlight. Congrats. Sue

Very very beautiful; and I love the concept of breath out and in; because no matter the impact; if we find it again we are filled with the breath of beauty again. Bravo. Loretta

Ladywildalice – Wow! You have said a wonderful mouthful with your congrats and I’m so very happy this poetic work was enough to inspire such grand sentiments. Makes a poet proud. Sometimes the words don’t come out right and sometimes they don’t come at all, a price we pay for what’s to be written next I guess. We poets are indeed possessed with an ‘obsessive need to create, touch, expose and connect’. Hallelujah for all 4! Couldn’t ask for more. Thanks for getting grabbed by the shirt collar with this. If you ever find yourself approaching a luminous, silken, joyful connection with another soul beyond description, hold your arms out, take a deep breath and yell “INCOMING”. It’ll put the biggest smile in your day Sue. Breath out! Breath in! Namyh

Loretta – So very happy this put a ‘very very beautiful’ in your day. Sometimes the only difference between a good day and a bad day is just a breath in and a breath out letting you know that you are still alive and it’s beautiful. Thanks Loretta for stopping by and spending a spell. Makes an old poet breathe just a little bit easier. Namyh
P.S. – I’m showing my age but wasn’t there a Loretta Young show on early TV also.
