GOTHICAL RHETORIC

Post by Kornelia » March 30th, 2015, 12:38 pm

O,luminous light,of purification
The raven of my heart
Is sleeping in the dying sea

It`s cloth of feathers
Lies down to rest
Transformation awakens
In the raven`s nest

He told me that
When he became a child
He watched the worlds
And flowers growing wild

He told me of the bottomless soul
Beneath it,I hide,beyond it
I swim the non existing tide

Behind closed eyes
My shadow seems thinner
Than the veiled silence
Of unmasked fear

I am the seer
I am the sight

I am the scar
I am the stain

I am the wound
I am the womb

Born,under the headstone
Of my tomb

Korny - this just kept getting better and the end was epic! I never would have guessed where things were going and your structure and word choice were superb for total effect on the unsuspecting reader. Much admired artistry and good to see you again, cheers! - Dan. Always love something nautical too!

The ending was kind of abrupt, yes,It could have been differently but then it would have been another poem.

Unmasked fear; born under the headstone - takes me away to someplace else Korny. I just had to come back for another read, and bask in the dark glow here, cheers! - Dan

I liked this, especially the mythic and totemic vision of the bird.
Stanza 2 in particular is excellent, it commands the attention with the rhyme and the vivid image.
The poem has the feel of an incantation.
Nice work, it deserved to be chosen for a spotlight piece in my opinion.

Rainman, i am very happy to receive your kind words, It has a bit of an incantation indeed. Sometimes I use this in a personal way and I lie to listen to music that invokes the spirit. I believe in the greater depth of things. Nice meeting you here!
