To Sophie

Through and through weaved into this soul,
It knows your touch even if it has been subtle.
From rubble of the emotion ruin; light reignites.
Fighting not for intimacy, but a senseful joy.
Mazes that led to dead ends, lost friends, and…
that fateful moment that will never end ever.
Thought that it could be severed; heart breaks,
Knowing that we may never be this close,
Drops flow as the lyric was ‘tear of my heart,’
Thought wrong as leaving isn’t an option.
Finally understanding the greatest prophecy,
These eyes saw a beginning with poetry,
Knowing you now echoes that without words,
Our souls live on forever even if incantations die,
By your side as one who walks this path together,
No regrets ever; even if carrying you happens,
Glad that even if the chemical reaction ends,
Life at a low, but happy by having you as a friend.

Could someone advise me as to how I nominate this poem for the Weekly Spotlight???

My friend, this was truly captivating for me. Whether Sophie knows about this or not, you have made a truly commendable effort with this beautiful piece, and I suspect she would be overwhelmed.
My favourite line was 'that fateful moment that will never end ever.' True, romances end and we cannot stop replaying the good times over and over again in our head. The nostalgia this invokes is as heart-breaking as any break-down in a relationship. This sad philosophy you conveyed so simply- yet so beautifully and effectively- in a single line.
The final two lines made me 'awww' aloud quite literally. Indeed, I am in awe of this poem so much and I only wish I could communicate beyond text so you could hear my awe-struck tone! Truly I am grateful for this share, likely because it is personal to me at the moment.
Love is indeed more than a chemical reaction; it is a Union of hearts and souls, which can be re-deployed in the term of friendship, for which, obviously, you are truly glad.

A searching and insightful masterpiece.

What we will not do to not be living alone but with that person who competes you, makes you search your inner self, your inner soul. WriterMinuit said it all.
Beautiful.

Great poem. Congratulations on the spotlight. Well deserved. This was truly a pleasure to read, an enchantment of the soul if you will. Loved the word play and theme.

Thanks everyone and for the spotlight too. Sophie was very proud of this one, so it means a lot to have had this honor.
