When Angel Was A Demon. My beautiful Scar

Post by Classic » May 20th, 2015, 9:46 pm

She met an Angel beautiful and strong.
But in his life she did not belong.
They said their 'Hello's' and parted ways.
She would later remember the passing glances; and regret not casting her eyes down in denial.
But how was she to know that an Angel he was not?
The seed of desire had been sown in his heart...
His actions would cause death and pain, but it was too late, evil had taken place
and so he ran away
And hid his face

But life was created that fateful day..

She didn't know...

Until the tides of blood began to flow..
And the life that was left behind ...
was no more.
for life turned into death; and through death life was reborn..
But always there is a cost, for evil must leave its mark..
So the scar of death she would have to bare
Forever reminding her that her life was spared...

For the remainder of her years she hid in shame
Every time she lay bare, she’d curse that Angel
She’d curse the life lost
She’d curse the life spared.

A shadow of regret and shame cast over the remainder of her days
Hiding what she was behind her pretty eyes
fake smiles and real tears cried over pseudo fears
Always that scar to remind her
To shame her
To bury her…
Yes, her” life “had been spared…

My beautiful Scar
“Twenty- and- Three years you have been with me
I received you at fifteen
Half Angel and half demon
we were doomed from the start

For Evil forced you upon me
In the depths of Hell
With burning fire and unbridled desire
you were formed

His touch burned my skin and destroyed my soul

Bitterness consumed me
Fear gripped my heart
Death, Death took control
Your end came before your life could even start

My body became weak…
blood began to flow..
And Death, Death my little one..
Demanded I let you go..

One life lost, the other spared…
But Evil must never be forgotten
For evil always leaves his mark

A scar to remind me…
to remind me that you were once here…
.
For Twenty-and-Three years
you have been my dream and my nightmare
you have been my love
and my hate
You are my Ugly
You are my Beautiful
You are the one I can not escape
We were forged together in fire and hell

You are my Angel,
You are my curse

I liked "you are my ugly" as much as "beautiful"...but for my own reasons...a passionate reminder that love doesn't ONLY take you to the heights of elation...there's a whole other end to its spectrum of life experiences! - dew

Touched by your poem, as it read and felt so genuine! What I liked were the metaphors, life and death,
light and dark, where light is reborn again, even in the awareness of pain, through the loss there were small glints of hope...

very tragic indeed and touches on a subject not dealt with often. I think sometimes we have regrets for decisions we've made but this one was a tangible reminder of that regret and the good and the bad of the consequences.

This is a very difficult topic to write about in a mature, and moving way. You accomplished both with this cathartic poem. The dual coins of beauty and ugliness; love and hate; good and evil are perfectly described. Great, great poem.

Yes, a very, very difficult subject to write about. This poem carried pain that was masked with a plainness of tone, mirroring the mask that 15yr old girl had to wear. This was particularly heartbreaking. As has been noted I see, the consistent paradox of feeling towards Him was heightened by powerful oxymorons (especially 'Ugly'/'Beautiful'. These demonstrated the utter confusion the victim feels.
The fact his entire character was captured by the synecdoche of the scar was both haunting and telling of what kind of person he was.
Powerful, powerful piece.

I am in awe...I loved the whole theme of it and the "life lost and life spared". we all have that feeling at times where we are left "spared" and it's just enough to kill the soul and, yet, not die. The most painful feeling ever...

Truly, truly heartwrenching. The passion, the fear, the regret all displayed in such a powerful, naked way.
The maturity of a 38 yo tries to sort out the internal life of a 15 yo, but the wound refuses to heal. Remarkable write.
