Dewdrop
Post
by seraph1420 » April 5th, 2015, 8:59 am
Drops drip
Fall to the ground
The mud
Devours
Not before (the drop) has touched
Its lover
Caressed it awake,
"Sun is up already
Blossom to your might
A new day it is
And end of mine
But no regrets (I have)
Witnessed your beauty
Your serene ambiance
(I) lived my day
Your turn it is
Rise up and bloom
Spread your fragrance
Let the dawn be fresh"
Flowers bloom till dusk
And next morning
Another dewdrop wakes them up Last edited by

I found this poem to be very observational yet subtly emotional. The personification of the dew drop was very touching and imaginative: it reminds us that some of the creatures of Mother Nature live such a short span, they're here and then they're gone, replaced by many, many others. Quite like human life.

Hi there, Seraph;
this is a fine example of how nothing is wasted in nature; even the miniscule dew drop serves to bring forth or support a flower. Also, this is a good reminder that we humans do have only a short lifespan; our life is a flash in the pan, yet, we seem to serve a purpose. Much enjoyed,
Jerry

What a unique approach you've taken here. I found your use of parentheses and quotes especially interesting, particularly the parenthesis around the word "I." It was a bit like the speaker was putting herself in the background to let the nature sing through. I like the idea of something small making something bigger, like a dew drop growing flowers. Everything is important. Very nicely written. Love the ending too: "Another dew drop wakes them up." Lovely.

Simply beautiful dear Seraph, the transformation of dew drop when it hides into soil... but it doesn't loses its identity.... its aroma, its reflection never dies.... wonderful write.

It felt as if I was intruding on such a private secret beauty of nature. Just the sound of the word 'dewdrop' has a beautiful poetic ring and you have captured the gentleness such a natural existence brings. Everything has purpose in nature, from the obvious large storms to the smallest insect or single drop. Gorgeous and a poem lucky to have the pleasure of reading. Awesome piece and it definitely deserves to be here (The Spotlight). Thanks for sharing. :)

This is beautiful! I love how this poem grabbed both my senses and my heart. Your poem is sensual in a somewhat subtle way. You have done a wonderful job crafting this metaphor.

A beautiful approach that is broader than it is literal which made for a delicious read. I thoroughly enjoyed and congratulations on the spotlight as well. Peace, V
