I did not know that I know how to say no
Because everything in my life has been a no-no
By saying yes where I should have not done so
When I should have said no
Irrespective whether I know or do not know
I should have said no
Irrespective whether I thought so
Or I have been told so
What do I know if deep within I cannot say no
Apparently I know how to say no
But have foolishly not done so
Does that make me stupid?
I can’t reply by saying No.

Re: Easy Going, Or Just Easy?
marvelous lingual acrobatics...and with the simplest words. I adored the use of no and no-no, and the conclusion at the end (especially coupled with the title...lol...I'm easy too). This was some really well contrived introspection with the perfect touch of humor and some potential wisdom...I say 'potential' because I assume, like me, your sagacity is still dormant, though well learned by now! lol. This was marvelous! Exalt! - dew

That's me as well Windy - I wind up bending over backwards sometimes for somebody, and if all my considerable efforts are for naught (or occasionally successful) - I get a modicum of a cursory thanks. Then later comes the payback when you attempt to reciprocate and get brushed-off. A bit off topic but related in our dealing with others. We should be doing things for ourselves and not the reward. Cheers and well-penned my friend - Dan

Not wanting to hurt people on account of yourself getting hurt is a very serious disease that always pulls me down. Everyone moves ahead and I am left behind in self-inflicted pain. Someone said there is will and there is determination, and that both can be applied by the self in order to change for the better. I have just given up and am unhappily wallowing in my own .....

Re: Easy Going, Or Just Easy?
Wanting to have positive relationships with people isn't wrong. And wanting to have them reciprocate isn't wrong either. The problem is being able to discern the "proper people" to have those relationship with. We must evaluate, in our own hearts and minds, what it is we are truly doing? Are we tossing out affection and friendship based on appearances? On what we "think" these people are? Or are we taking the time to get to know them well, spending quality time with them, seeing how they truly behave, what they truly believe, before we "befriend" them. If not, then we are leaving ourselves wide open for constant disappointment. Perhaps our problem is that we are too insecure in ourselves, too hungry for friendships, to needy for others' approval, carry too much fear of being alone, that we jump into relationships way to quickly and way to easily. Loved your poem, thank you for sharing it.

Oh dear, It hit the mark ... So true to life for so many of us ---- So, in the spirit of it I will say Yes, brilliant and definitely not a no-no. I particularly liked the last word of the first line of the last couplet ... Stupid ... No, no, No !
In friendship,
Eric.

Great play of Words on the theme, and, like a juggling ball, you keep roling the Words forwards.

Re: Easy Going, Or Just Easy?
Three magic words to learn. Pull them out when you need them the most. "Just say, No."
Loved the last couplet where the speaker, and dare I say the readers, are left thinking about the outcome of a another yes! Lol fun and spotlight bright! Congrats.
