Between moons
Post
by mangodog » August 20th, 2015, 6:02 pm
A true poet is good at
freezing moments,
capturing love in any
and all its forms
and chaining it to words
Its real imprint
bruises, tears flesh
and streams wordless sunshine
between lonely moons
caged on the edge of the universe
Not yet dark,
my pen casts no shadow
as your light
enters the room . . .

So well stated, Drew;
and it's unconditional love for my soul mate that remains this humble poet's guiding light and inspires him to speak of her in tender verses. Your last two couplets in particular are quite beautiful.
"Not yet dark,
my pen casts no shadow
as your light
enters the room . . . ."
I truly appreciate and love your words of wisdom.

Drew, this is why I envy your writing. It delivers the taste of sublime sensuality without any of the pitfalls that occur when someone without your talent attempts to write something "sexy". This is beautiful and very enjoyable. A real "revisit" write, to be relished over, and over, and over again. Congrats on the spotlight. Very well deserved.

"Caged on the edge of the universe" - flawless imagery after staging the concept, defining the terms, and then a characterization that makes your point as it moves beyond words. Sorry I missed this one earlier Drewski - cheers my friend, and congrats on the spotlight! - Dan
Awestruck and dumbfounded by the concise elegance on display (and a tad jealous)

This was beautiful:
and streams wordless sunshine
between lonely moons
caged on the edge of the universe
Continue on to the end of the poem:
Not yet dark,
my pen casts no shadow
as your light
enters the room . . .
I can only imagine the warmth you felt with the gift of those thoughts. Congratulations on the TPS Spotlight recognition.

Your words speak. A wonderful poem.

freezing moments,'
These are picturesque words.Thank you.

Hello mangodog,
Very expressive - just love that
"lonely moons caged on the edge of the universe"
I have a program on my PC "WorldWide Telescope" ... well worth an exploration by any aspiring or actual poet - and your poem is reminiscent of some of the content. The really difficult part of writing a poem is "chaining it to words" so that the links clink and don't clank. You've well and truly succeeded here. Well, Done.
In friendship,
Eric.
