The Month of May - Rime Royal

Post by ramfire » May 24th, 2016, 11:41 am

Iambic Alexandrine

Our Decoration Day remembers those who died
for country giving lives in military way.
Their courage shining bright as lights is true and tried
reflecting deeds far better, yea, than we can say.
To those dead souls our humble homage we do pay.
Put flowers, wreaths, flags, prayers on high upon their graves,
thanks be to those who died we're free this day not slaves.

tigeye,
A good Memorial Day poem. Yes, we should honor those who passed away while serving our country.

Good stuff. Reminds me of Remembrance Day (for Canada).

Always amazed how people back then (and now) are giving their lives so we can have ours.

Wow, A great tribute to our dear soldiers that gave their all, to save and protect us from harm. Salute!
I enjoyed this grand piece very much.

An apt and beautiful tribute to our fallen warriors. We truly owe them everything. Well done.

Pretend I don't burn
I'm not burning here.
I just lay ash
On my eyelids,
And rub it deep into my
Bones.
