Prisoner of Time

Post by kryptoean » July 30th, 2016, 4:42 am

Of this moment,
A prisoner,
If I were to be,
With forever
The notes fresh
And images vivid,
Death shall maybe
Never hither come?

Wrote this after listening to the ghazal Aaj Jaane ki Zid Naa Karo (Please don't insist on leaving today) by Fayyaz Hashmi. It took me on a tangent, and resulted in the above. Wish to extend it some time later.
This also continues on the theme i picked up in Short-lived a (long) while back.

I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night." - Sarah Williams

Hello Kryptoean. A beacon of home for one of the biggest downfalls in life. No one gets out alive. Although there are stories out there. So who knows. Would you truly want to live forever though? We all think that we do, but after a million years of forever, I could see myself looking for a bit of relief. Maybe a middle ground of sleep, then a reincarnation perhaps? Always a pleasure.

The self absorbed person thinks that he has time on his side,
that the sun rises and sets just for him...(I personally know a few of those  )
We are indeed all prisoners of time, but short term (in the greater scheme of things)...

Man's quest for immortality: it never stops Kryp, while death is his biggest fear, lacking faith. Fear of the unknown or something more maybe? - Cheers! - Dan
