My Life

[Liquid Bear]

My life grows anxiously
like a flower thirsting for air
in a hell made of thorns

Without pride it invites the sun
to nourish its tired
and barren roots

Sometimes a raindrop
lulls to sleep the ferocity
of the endless hours

How long will the sad flower
resist beneath the unfeeling sky?

So much said, such intense emotion, in this seemingly simple piece that hit me to the core like a sledgehammer.
