the silent pond (conachlonn)

Post by entwife » September 4th, 2016, 12:30 pm

all around the silent pond
frond and lily pad in abundance
chance to spy a dragonfly
try to feel the quiet there
ere you leave this restful place
lacy plants and waving reeds
needs to stay a bit apart
heart stays there while
I’ll be back in the loudness
yes, but will have to return
burning with the need to see the fall

Hi

There is an entire echo system in and about a pond. circles within circles of the physical and the living. Every season has its own charm. There is comfort in the certitude of never-ending change.

thanks for catching the echoes in this poem. the conachlonn is a new form to me and the rhyme scheme seems to echo.

honestly this was very peaceful to me and the rhyme scheme helps to convey that with a very natural flow which makes for easy reading. love the natural jaunt and the lighthearted poem

Very difficult to achieve a coherent message within this restrictive rhyming pattern. I feel that you managed that admirably. Well done on the spotlight
