A journey through Seasons

Post by hiddenlyrics10 » November 20th, 2016, 10:07 pm

A smile sits uneasily on my lips, shifting with the tides of the ocean
Eyes search the horizon, searching for dots on the clear blue beyond
The armrests beckon, encouraging my limbs to relieve all stress and tension
Shirtless and tanned, the skin glistens with a golden color of purity and bliss
On a Hot Summer Day

Smell of rain hangs in the air, breath coming in refreshing waves
Pink ridges appear on open skin, shivers from an invisible cold wind
Hands are buried inside denim pockets, as if hiding from the world around
The untied shoes at the floor shout loudly, just asking to go out and explore
On a Clear Spring Day

The trees outline the path, colors shining bright and overpowering the vision
Sticks snapping under purposeful steps, as if on a journey of many miles
Ears swell bright red, heavy breaths following an inconsistent and unsure pattern
The path thin and disguised, flawless navigation remains in front of the mind
On A Brisk Fall Day

The clouds above seal together, like childhood thoughts on an elderly mind
A sun lies somewhere within sight, but sunglasses just seem to make things dark
Wind blows against the cheek, ghosts of former sensations once joyously felt
Gloves hug the fingers tightly, a sense of security within the sewn cotton
On A Warm Winter Day

The perspective is interesting. Not just nature, but our own adaptations to them. The human reaction to nature perhaps.

This appeals to the senses, I can smell the rain and feel the warmth in my fingers...

Sensuously composed, with beautiful seasonal imagery; a delight to read.

So many great images portrayed in this poem, I enjoyed the whole concept and shared in your reveries as a four season dweller myself..Good work..Tangie..

I enjoyed the poetic journey that highlighted the seasons. I liked the fifth line on each of the four stanzas emphasizing the season represented by the first four lines of the stanza. It was like a necklace of memories.
