Inside the Cocoon
Warm brown eyes melt me
Shapeshift. Eyes black a shark's
Beautiful mask slips
Dragon tongue scorches my heart
Pain peels off my skin
Not death, but rebirth
Inside the Cocoon

Re: Inside the Cocoon
Sounds like an incredibly painful process. I'm curious to know how this poem came to be, what was it inspired by. Thought-provoking to say the least.

Took me a little while to think about, but gives me some sense of what metamorphosis might feel like.
