If there be thorns
Let there be roses
Let me not live in my regret
Let me look at all my struggles
And realize what it all meant
Let me look upon my past
And let me laugh at my mistakes
Let me righfully do taking
For everything I gave
In other words let me feel like
My work was worth it
My worries weren't
Let me laugh as said before
Please do not let the past hurt
Remind me what I'm here for
Let my passion and my pain
Be the things that drive me forward
Humility may I gain
If ever my life be
The influences of stories
Please let them know that there were thorns,
And that there were also roses.

Very true. strong, and to the point. It makes one think. Every rose has its thorns, every storm has a a silver lining and purpose of its own. Great write.

One of the things I sense in this poem is a plea for justice. If we are going to endure the thorns, then we
very much want to at least smell the roses. Maybe part of spiritual maturity is getting to the place that we
have eyes to see the roses.
