Dreaming of Existing - Palindrome

Post by sparky21737 » April 25th, 2017, 8:54 pm

Dreaming
Asleep I am
Or am I awake?
Night is quiet and still
Shadows lengthen and form stars
Spiraling, spiraling, spiraling

Breathing
Alive I am
Or am I dead?
Morning is coming
I will wake, won’t I?
Waiting, waiting, waiting

I do exist, don’t I?
Questioning, always, questioning
Asleep, awake, alive, dead
Dead, alive, awake, asleep
Questioning, always, questioning
I don’t exist do I?

Waiting, waiting, waiting
I won’t wake will I?
Coming is morning
Dead I am
Or am I alive?
Breathing

Spiraling, spiraling, spiraling
Stars form and lengthen shadows
Still and quiet is night
Awake I am
Or am I asleep?
Dreaming

Nice stuff! :D

Palindromes are always really fun to make since - at least in the way I do it - you start with a simple idea on the 'pivot' and then you expand and expand on it. The content revolving around questioning works great for that. Also liked the creative use of punctuation to make the palindrome lines work.

wow! I'm glad I clicked on this. Thank you for sharing with us. It's very well-penned. I especially like stars and shadows juxtaposing. Again, wow!

If at first you don't succeed, try second, third, or shortstop.

Love this, love the concept, love the topic. It has this sort of ethereal, dreamy, half-remembered quality I really enjoy. Well deserved and well done Sparky!

Pretend I don't burn
I'm not burning here.
I just lay ash
On my eyelids,
And rub it deep into my
Bones.

Congratulations on the spotlight recognition. I must admit I felt my head was spinning going back and forth. I can tell you had fun writing this.

Hi!:Sparky
This poem is the origin of Saussure's structural linguistics.sinifant "meaning" and signifié"meaningful" are left to the creativity of the reader.

Thank you for a wonderful work.
